The Boeing 747-400 is the older flagship of United Airlines is used for long-haul flights to Asia and Europe. It features individual suites in First Class, cradle seats in Business Class and an Economy Plus section in the Coach cabin. This configuration is being replaced by the Boeing 747-400 with new First and Business seats, the refitting will be completed around the middle of 2009.
First Class features full flat suites, with non-AVOD (Audio Video On Demand) personal screens, and in-seat emPower jacks for personal electronics.
Business Class seats are recliners, with 160-degree recline. non-AVOD video screen and emPower ports are installed at every business class seat.
Economy Plus seats accounts for about 40% of the coach cabin, with about four inches more room than the standard Economy seats. No in-seat video screen or power ports are installed, entertainment is via over-video screens.
